The LWF Uganda Program is looking for a qualified and experienced person to fill the following position:
Job Title: Project Coordinator
No. of Positions: 1
Place of Assignment: Obongi District.
Reports To: Sub Program Manager.
Starting date: ASAP
Duration of Contract: 07 months

Job Summary:
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the overall coordination and management of WFP supported interventions implemented by LWF in Palorinya Refugee Settlement. The role ensures the timely, efficient, cost effective, and compliant delivery of food/cash assistance, nutrition, and community capacity strengthening activities, in line with WFP Field Level Agreements and LWF policies.
The position provides strategic leadership to the project team, ensures effective integration of project components, and maintains strong coordination with WFP, OPM, district authorities, partners, and refugee leadership. The Project Coordinator also ensures quality reporting, accountability, and adherence to donor requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead overall project, financial, administrative, and staff management of the WFP project in Palorinya Refugee Settlement.
Supervise and support sector leads for Food, Cash, Nutrition, and Agrobusiness, ensuring integrated implementation of activities.
Ensure proper systems and controls for food commodities, cash delivery, and other project resources in line with LWF policies and Codes of Conduct.
Coordinate closely with WFP, OPM, Obongi District Local Government, implementing partners, and refugee leaders to promote a harmonized and participatory approach.
Ensure timely monitoring, documentation, and submission of high quality reports in accordance with donor formats and deadlines.
Represent LWF in settlement level food and nutrition coordination meetings and contribute to inter agency coordination.
Participate in senior management meetings, recruitment panels, and official missions as required.
Keep management informed of project progress, risks, and issues requiring attention.
Required Competencies
Strong leadership, coordination, analytical, and problem solving skills
Excellent interpersonal, communication, representation, and reporting abilities
Proven ability to manage multi sector humanitarian projects in refugee or complex settings
Professional Qualifications
A degree in nutrition, food science and technology, Agribusiness, Agricultural economics Development Economics or a related community development discipline from a recognized university.
Proven academic or on-job training and understanding of the Project Cycle model in managing humanitarian assistance.
Relevant Experience and skills
At least three (3) years of progressive experience in development or humanitarian program management. Experience gained within an international humanitarian NGO will be an added advantage.
Strong analytical, facilitation and documentation experience with humanitarian programs.
Experience in proposals and report writing.
Strong representation, negotiation and coordination experience and skills gained from working with UN organizations, national and international NGOs
Leading and coordinating multi-sectoral activities within a humanitarian NGO.
Practical experience of using the Project Cycle tool in the humanitarian sector.
Working knowledge and experience of humanitarian sector and core humanitarian standards.
Experience in Training of Trainers/Facilitators skills (TOT & TOF).
Excellent computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, use of internet and email.
