LWF Uganda Program is looking for a qualified and experienced person to fill the following position,
Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant
No. of Positions: Three (3).
Place of Assignment: Palabek, Kiryandongo, Palorinya.
Reports To: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.
Starting date: ASAP
Duration of Contract: Varied.

Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant will play a key role in supporting data collection, entry, verification, and reporting to ensure accuracy and accountability in project performance tracking. The position will support the implementation of LWF’s digital data management systems particularly the transition to Activity Info as the core Management Information System (MIS) to improve data quality, real-time reporting, and evidence-based decision-making.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Data Collection, Management, and Reporting (45%)
Support routine collection, compilation, cleaning, verification, and entry of project data into ActivityInfo and other approved Management Information Systems (MIS).
Assist in maintaining accurate and updated project databases, beneficiary records, and reporting trackers.
Conduct regular data quality checks and validation exercises to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness of project data.
Support aggregation of quantitative and qualitative data for monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports.
Assist in preparing project progress reports, indicator tracking tables, dashboards, and data summaries for internal and donor reporting.
Support field teams in the use of data collection tools, templates, and reporting formats.
Ensure proper filing, archiving, and storage of M&E documents, datasets, and reports both electronically and physically.
Support updating and maintaining SharePoint folders and other documentation platforms.
Assist in tracking project indicators and achievements against approved targets and work plans.
2. Monitoring and Field Support (35%)
Participate in routine field monitoring visits to verify project implementation, outputs, and beneficiary information.
Support implementation of baseline surveys, assessments, post-distribution monitoring, evaluations, and other data collection exercises.
Assist in administering questionnaires, conducting interviews, focus group discussions, and beneficiary feedback collection activities.
Support documentation of lessons learned, success stories, case studies, best practices, and Most Significant Change (MSC) stories.
Work with project staff and community structures to promote participatory monitoring and accountability mechanisms.
Support tracking and follow-up of action points from monitoring visits, evaluations, audits, and review meetings.
Assist in identifying implementation gaps, data discrepancies, and reporting challenges for timely corrective action.
Support supervision of enumerators, data collectors, and temporary field staff during assessments and surveys.
3. Learning, Documentation, and Knowledge Management (15%)
Support collection and organization of project learning materials, photos, reports, stories, and evidence products.
Assist in documenting project innovations, challenges, lessons learned, and best practices for organizational learning.
Contribute to preparation of newsletters, learning briefs, presentations, and other communication materials.
Ensure proper organization and accessibility of PMER and project documentation for learning and accountability purposes.
Support implementation of knowledge-sharing and learning activities within the program.
4. Coordination and Other Support Functions (5%)
Participate in project review meetings, coordination meetings, learning events, and workshops as required.
Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure timely reporting and information sharing.
Support visibility and accountability activities during project implementation.
Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Undertake any other related duties as may reasonably be assigned by the supervisor to support the achievement of LWF’s M&E objectives.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Monitoring and Evaluation, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Information Management, Demography, or any related field.
At least 1–2 years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation, data management, or reporting in humanitarian or development programs.
Experience working with NGOs or refugee response programs is an added advantage.
Experience using digital data collection tools such as KoboCollect, ODK, CommCare, or SurveyCTO is desirable.
Knowledge of ActivityInfo, Excel, Power BI, or other data analysis and visualization tools is an added advantage.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word.

High level of integrity, accountability, and confidentiality.
Language Requirements
Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
Knowledge of local languages spoken in project areas is an added advantage.
