JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports to: Administrative & Logistics Assistant
Duty Station: Kakuma
JOB SUMMARY
The Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in LWF offices and designated staff residential rooms at the Kakuma Refugee Camp.
The role involves daily cleaning, upkeep of accommodation facilities, and support to the administrative team in creating a safe and clean working and living environment.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Office Cleaning:
- Ensure daily general cleaning of LWF offices, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and emptying of waste bins in assigned areas.
- Clean office utensils and deliver them to designated offices as needed.
Residential Cleaning:
- Maintain cleanliness in designated staff residential rooms, including washing window curtains, beddings, and utensils where necessary.
- Make and spread beds, and ensure the general tidiness of the room.
Asset & Facility Care:
- Take responsibility for accommodation facilities and safeguard all items within the rooms during working hours.
- Promptly report any required repairs or maintenance in both offices and residential rooms to the responsible officer.
Logistical Support:
- Assist in moving furniture and equipment to support general meetings and other functions.
Supplies & Equipment:
- Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and report shortages to the management.
- Ensure all cleaning tools and equipment are kept in good working condition.
Guest Support:
- Work closely with the Administrative Assistant to ensure all guests are accommodated as per approved requests.
- Escort guests to their allocated rooms and the cafeteria.
Additional Duties:
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor or designated officer
Professional Qualifications and Experience:
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Previous experience in a similar cleaning or housekeeping role is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety guidelines and procedures
